Denver Womxn’s March and Community Exhibition
- This event has passed.
Denver’s Fourth Annual Womxn’s March and Community Exhibition will take place on Saturday, January 18th 2020. This is more than a March; this is a Movement. To better ignite action and create lasting impact, we will forgo a rally this year. Instead, after you march, make your way to the McNichols Building (attached to Civic Center Park) and connect with almost 60 local non-profits and grassroots organizations that are serving the community.
Thank you to everyone who completed our survey and shared the topics they wanted to learn more about. Organizations present at the McNichols Building will represent your top choices: Reproductive Rights, Climate Change, Gun Safety, Immigration Rights, Domestic Violence, Voting, and Art as Activism. For those of you who cannot make it to the March this year, we will be Live on Facebook with each of these organizations from 11:00am-3:00pm.
While you’re here: register to vote, drop off menstrual product donations, sit in on a Dear White Women podcast recording, participate in the Womxn Building Resilience community art workshop, check out local drummer/dancer ensembles and acapella performers, as well as Pink Progression’s traveling art exhibit of womxn artists, “Dearly Disillusioned.”
This year, it’s about Voting! If you are eligible, we encourage you to register to vote, ensure your voting registration is up-to-date, and vote on Election Day 2020. 2020 marks an unprecedented number of womxn elected to public office and the 100th year anniversary of (white) Womxn’s Suffrage. We celebrate the door first opening to the womxn’s Constitutional right to vote, and continue the work to uplift those whose voting rights took far longer to secure, and whose communities are still oppressed. Let’s remember all womxn’s suffrage anniversaries: Native American Womxn in 1924, Asian American Womxn in 1952, African American Womxn in 1964, and Latin American Womxn in 1975.
We will continue to share more details as we get closer to the date of the March so check back for updates and find more information on our website : https://www.womxnsmarchdenver.org/
